Honestly, I was about to skip past this picture. At first glance it didn't grab my interest. A fairly plain shot of a snowy winter road. But right before the photo skimmed out of view I caught the title.

"Children Story"

That made me stop, like those two words changed the entire meaning if the image. So I backed up and took a peek. Then I saw the snow-coveted sign with children on it.
And the more I look at it the more I truly do believe that those two simple words really do change the meaning of the picture. They mold its essence. It's no longer just a weather-swallowed road, it's a doorway. The children crossing sign. The little footprints in the snow. "Children Story."
It opens up possibilities. A completely new world of imagination. Dreams and beliefs, hopes and fears. All here and all very real, like seen through the eyes of a child.

Simple and yet it says so much.

The perfect name for your work really does make a difference.

Good job, Mikko, very good job!

Thank you very much Eqo, appreciate the feedback!

Titles are something I struggle with, but luckily this was easy to decide.
Thanks again and have a wonderful day!

This is creepy... where's the other child? Is he...dead?

btw, this is what my home looks like in winter. :) :) and I want winter to come. I love snow and the cold! :) Not like in this picture though, because it's creepy in the mist like that...

You are a very good photographer. :)

As a native Californian . . .

How can people live in that kind of weather!?

Quite easily, a good coat and a good heater in the car.

Lol! I'm from the northern most US, and it's better than the heat. You just bundle up warm. :) (well most of us...I like wearing no coat. You just get use to the cold after a while, and your body's metabolism speeds up so you can stay warmer. The indians here ate a lot of meat, and the fat of meat, that's how they stayed warm in the winter. We do tend to eat a lot of meat...at least, all the people up here I know/have ever met up here, and stews and such. Winter is so much fun. Lying in the snow with my LONG hair down in a short sleeved tee-shirt and snow pants (only for a little bit though before going back inside) is a lot of fun, and it feels REALLY good. Actually...I usually wear a long sleeved tee-shirt, a sweater, and snow-pants, no coat. And that's when it's (I'm not kidding you) around 15 degrees out. You just get use to it after a while, and I'm always running around taking pictures so that helps me stay warm. Wool is the best stuff ever too. :) :) :)

I do envy those who live on the Californian cost for one reason though...I LOVE the water. :) :) I have a mermaid tail and use it a lot in the summer at lakes here (and in winter at indoor pools) but I've never taken it to the ocean. I'd love to though. :) :)

Every state has it's high points (which in our case is something like 90 or more with over 80% humidity in summer...ugh...), and low points (which in our case is something like -30 or more in winter!)

Lol...sorry I ramble... ;P I more than answered your question. For a simple one-sentance answer: Your body just gets used to it. ;P

That's where I live, right on the ocean :) The wind always comes off the ocean, so it stays the same temperature year 'round, a nice 60-68 degrees, summer or winter.

That's the PERFECT TEMP! We only get it here for about a month all fall. (meaning of course...we have a really short fall...) :) :)

Don't you ever miss...(or want) snow???? ;)

I've been in snow . . . mmm, probably two times, when up at Lake Tahoe. It was pretty to look at, but too uncomfortable to be in.

So naw XD I'm fine without snow.

*tiny voice* two...times... :iconcryingplz: I pity you... Snow is so much fun. *sigh* to each their own I suppose. *sigh*

The strange thing is how much our season fluctuate... it's WAY to hot (for my taste) in the summer (anything over 75 is too hot for my taste...I get heat stoke really easily...I need to live in the British Isles...for more than one reason!) and then it can seriously get to -30 below here, or more. I remember once very clearly when I was little it got to be -55 outside. Our door was all frozen over so we couldn't open it, and mom said that if I went outside I would freeze to death...and that it wouldn't take long. I didn't go outside then to say the least!

Btw, I looked in your gallery, and you are a really good artist! :)

Ahaha I think the same when people tell me they've never been to the beach before :P I can't imagine living my whole life and never being to the ocean.

The weather here is pretty boring, really. It only rains about 6 times a year in the winter (maybe one lightning storm every four years) and when it's not sunny, it's foggy. But the fog is nice <3

Thanks!

I love being at the ocean. It's so beautiful. I'm still kinda scared of sharks though...I've kinda always been scared of sharks...and sting rays, though I've pet them both at the really HUGE Minnesota Aquarium (if you're ever up that way it's worth going to. It's gigantic, and they have lots of really good tick dolphins!) I just got my tail, so I just haven't gone with that yet. I'm more of a freshwater mermaid. I'm a purple mermaid though, so dad says I should be an ocean mermaid because ocean fish tend to be brighter coloured. I'm going to make a brown tail though that matches my tail, so I will be a freshwater mermaid then. :) :) Lol. ;)

Wow...you have really different weather. We get somewhere around 10 or more lighting storms in Spring alone (this year was particularly rainy. I didn't count...but it was very stormy) and in Spring it seems like it's always raining. In fall it storms and rains too...like all the time...

I like fog too. It's just beautiful, and it feels really cool to know you're standing inside a cloud. (granted one that's on the ground, but it's still a cloud!) :) :) :)

You're welcome. :)
